Reiki

Trista first heard of the healing power of Reiki from a classmate while attending massage school. Finding herself more and more intrigued by the concept of channeling universal life energy for the purpose of assisting in the healing of herself and others, Trista enrolled in a level 1 class that was being offered at the International Professional School of Bodywork in San Diego, CA.

“I was a true skeptic when it came to the workings of energy and the healing power of touch, which is what inevitably led me to the first level of Reiki. I love to learn more about the things in life that seem inexplicable or impossible. During my Reiki level 1 attunements, I felt very little take place physically, mentally or spiritually, which only reenforced my skepticism. Yet, I still felt drawn to the concept of Reiki. A month later, I was enrolled in a level 2 class, where I would have one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Level 2 is where you are initiated into the symbols used in distance healing and you learn to send universal energy through time and space to other people, places, events and things, which is where I had my first big Reiki breakthrough. After this particular experience, I was convinced that Reiki was yet another part of my pathway to spirit. I went on to level 3 just two weeks later. In the mountains just outside of San Diego, I was initiated into the Master level of Reiki, under the guidance and initiation of my Reiki Master, Jeannie Kidwell. I continue to use the healing power of Reiki nearly every day and I am eternally grateful for the opportunity I have been given to assist in the facilitation of healing in myself and in others.”

The word Reiki translates into Rei = spiritual wisdom and Ki = life energy.

Reiki is a non-invasive Japanese technique administered by “laying on hands” and is most noted for stress reduction and relaxation. Reiki also promotes healing by balancing and opening up blockages on a cellular level within the chakras and auric field. The practitioner works on the physical, emotional and spiritual levels to remove energetic blocks. This is done by raising the vibration until the negative Ki cannot hold on to the area it is attached to and is released. Other times, the negative Ki may be reprogrammed by the Reiki energy and transformed into positive Ki which restores and maintains health. Reiki can sense exactly where negative Ki exists in a person’s subtle energy system and will flow to these areas where it changes the vibration of negative Ki. When the body is weak, Reiki can provide the body with a very nurturing supply of Ki that helps the organs return to healthy functioning, thus healing at the level of cause and creating permanent healing.

This modality is done with the client fully clothed and can be combined with any other modality.
