Primordial Sound Meditation

Trista teaches a form of meditation called Primordial Sound Meditation. It is a practice that has been passed down by her teachers, Deepak Chopra and Dr. David Simon, with its roots in India’s ancient Vedic tradition. Primordial Sound Meditation is a powerful, and accessible way to move beyond the mind’s constant stream of thoughts into the stillness of pure awareness. 

Primordial Sound Meditation is for beginner and experienced practitioners alike. During your first session, Trista will teach you your personal mantra, which is calculated through Vedic mathematics based on the time and place of your birth.  A mantra is a specific sound or vibration which, when repeated silently during meditation, helps you enter deeper and deeper levels of awareness. Mantras are not prayers to specific Gods or Goddesses. ‘Mantra’ is a Sanskrit term meaning “vehicle of the mind” and is a tool that transports you to a state of blissful and profound peace within.

This style of meditation is taught in a four-part series, with each session encompassing its own body of knowledge, and systematically leading to the next. The format has been carefully designed to provide you with maximum benefit, understanding and enjoyment.  The format is generally taught over the course of two days to allow you time to integrate the teachings and meditate on your own. By learning Primordial Sound Mediation in consecutive sessions over an extended period of time, you are given the opportunity ask questions and discuss your experience.

The Primordial Sound Meditation course includes:

Session 1: Introduction to Primordial Sound
In this session, you will learn basic principles of meditation and how the Primordial Sound mantras are chosen.

Session 2: Receiving Your Sacred Primordial Sound Mantra
This is a one-on-one, private meeting with Trista in which you will receive your Primordial Sound mantra and learn how to use it correctly. After you learn your mantra, you will meditate with Trista for thirty minutes.

Session 3: Perfecting the Practice; The Practical Application of Meditation
This session provides you with an understanding of the practical aspects of meditation: how to develop a home practice, the value of meditation, the mechanics of stress release and discussion about different experiences that might arise during meditation.

Session 4: Higher States of Consciousness
This session includes an exploration of expanded states of awareness and provides an understanding of the territory that you will begin to freely traverse in your meditation practice. We’ll also discuss the physiological functioning and quality of experience of each of the seven states of consciousness, as taught by Deepak Chopra.

How is Primordial Sound Meditation learned?

*Sessions 1 & 2 are taught on the same day.

*Sessions 3 is taught on the following day or a week later.

*Session 4 is ideally taught approximately 3 weeks later, so you have plenty of meditation experience prior to this more advanced session. However, it can be taught in combination with session 3 if necessary.
